Typical mid-war Remington Rand stamped with maker on left side of slide. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 US ARMY" on right side of frame along with Ordnance wheel with raw metal showing though (proper). Features serrated slide stop, checkered safety, checkered spurless hammer, checkered short trigger, serrated arched mainspring housing with loop, Keyes marked brown composite grips and pinned base blued magazine. "FJA" (Frank Atwood) inspector stamp on left side. "P" at magazine release and top of slide. High Standard marked barrel; bore has some light frosting. Pistol has seen very little use; retains 98% of its original matte green GI finish. Left grip has one ding. Nearly unimproveable Remington Rand dating to mid-war with very light takedown line and virtually no wear on straps.
