Standard late-war U.S. Army pistol that features all correct era parts to include long smooth trigger, wide spur checkered hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, flat mainspring housing with loop, diamond checkered walnut grips, blued and pinned tempered magazine and correct era sights. 1913 patent date slide with pony at rear, used from 20001 to 285000. Left side of frame has inspector stamp "GHS" for Gilbert Stewart (1915-1918) with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Right side of slide is stamped with "MODEL OF 1911 US ARMY". Blued barrel is stamped with "PH" sans serifs in line with bore (110001 to 425000). Gun retains approximately 70% original Colt military blue finish with the balance simply mixing to a soft blue-brown patina. Grips are excellent. Fine action and strong bore. Very handsome, untouched late-war example.
