A total of 6,100 of this model were manufactured and was the first true production of a .45 ACP weapon. This early three-digit example was manufactured in 1906, the first full year of production and second shipping year. Features blued finish, rear slide serrations, case colored round hammer, walnut diamond checkered grips, unmarked magazine. Grips straps are basically grey patina. Balance of gun retains approximately 85-90% original blue. Still retains fire blue on screws and has traces of color on hammer. Grips are excellent to near mint. Strong bore and action. Very nice, early example of the first true .45 caliber semi-automatic Colt pistol.
