This pistol was manufactured early in 1943. Slide has the large version of the Remington Rand stamp with "P" on top of barrel. Standard issue mid-war with all standard features including; slide stamped "REMINGTON RAND", left side of frame has the "FJA" Frank Atwood inspector stamp, "P" at magazine release, light Ordnance wheel on left side with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 US ARMY", brown composite Keyes grips, checkered arched mainspring housing with loop, short checkered trigger, checkered slide stop, checkered safety and spurless checkered hammer. Top of slide has a "P". Blued barrel is stamped "HS" on right lug for High Standard. Has a blued magazine. Overall appearance of this pistols appears to be a grey matte finish with freckling. Strong rifled bore with light frosting.
