In 1927 10,000 Model 1911A1's were ordered from Colt for the Argentine Army. It has the standard Colt Model 1911 stamp on left side of slide. Serial number is stamped on top of slide and right side of frame and slide. Right slide is stamped "EJERCITO ARGENTINO COLT CAL. 45 MOD. 1927" and right side of slide also has Argentine crest. All other aspects are the same as a standard pre-war commercial 1911A1 with small checkered parts, wide spur hammer, checkered arched mainspring housing, checkered walnut grips and "COLT .45 AUTO" stamped tempered blue magazine with lanyard at butt. Gun retains approximately 70% original finish with sharp legends. Very good to excellent grips. Fine bore and action.
