In order to be "Set For Life" one might entertain doing some driven shooting in Scotland, and of course would need a matched pair. These guns are engraved "I" and "II" on rear portions of ribs, top levers, and forend tips. They have well struck 28" barrels with slightly raised matted game ribs which are engraved "Flli PIOTTI ITALY" on sides of left barrels. Barrel flats are stamped with 1996 Italian nitro proofs; Bottoms of barrels are stamped with chambers, importer, and model. Coin finished sidelock actions feature non-automatic safeties, raised arrowhead tumbler end cocking indicators, and double triggers (fronts articulated). Actions and lockplates are engraved with very well cut minuscule shaded scroll which covers full area of actions with the exception of beads, which are left unengraved. Lockplates are also fully covered with scroll. This close work is very finely executed and stands up well to 10X magnification. Engravers signature, G Ranetti, is on trigger plates. Single beaded trigger guards are also scroll engraved, Serial numbers are on tangs. Dark finely marbled European walnut straight grip buttstocks measure 15" over black KICKEEZ pads. Very well cut, closely spaced point pattern checkering is on diamond hands. Matching small beavertail ejector forends have Anson releases. Excellent, close to new, with evidence of very little firing, with minor marks and scratches in finish of all wood and metal surfaces. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent.
