Factory letter states this revolver was sold to the Japanese agents Takata & Company. Shipped from the factory August 12th, 1896. The cylinder number on this gun is 29297 that is from a revolver that was in this same shipment, obviously shipped by Japanese armorers sometime during its issue. The latch and barrel number match the issued revolver. It is a six shot single action with royal blue finish, half moon front sight, wide case colored target hammer, case colored trigger guard, S&W black composite logo grips, factory installed lanyard ring. Rear grip strap is a grey-brown patina; front grip strap is a blue-grey patina. The cylinder is a soft mix of blue-brown patina with brilliant blue in recesses. Frame retains 75% brilliant blue mixing with soft patina. Barrel retains approximately 80% original blue, thinning alongside areas of barrel. Indexes correct and has a strong, rifled bore.
