Approximately 6,650 of these muskets were manufactured. Round blued rifled barrel, top marked "SHARPS RIFLE/MANUFG. CO./HARTFORD CONN" and "NEW MODEL 1863", left side of breech marked "R.S.L." Flip up adjustable rear sight and front bayonet lug/sight. Casehardened straight block action with fire blued screws and small parts, standard New Model markings. Casehardened lever, steel patchbox, buttplate, and barrel bands. Two-piece walnut stock, partially figured. Excellent condition, overall with fine and strong action, excellent shiny bore with only a few surface particles. Barrel retains almost all of blue finish with some scattered brown spotting. Action and casehardened parts retain mostly vivid case colors with some fading and scattered areas of brown spotting. Stock very good with some scattered dents and minor storage marks.
