Twist steel barrels, with taper matted concave rib and single brass sighting bead, double trigger and extractors. The book “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price and Cote identify this gun as Grade PT, under-lifter with 34" barrel. Rib of barrel marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS.MERIDAN.CONN.TWIST.” Unstruck barrel weight is 10lbs 6oz! Frame has minimal zig-zag border on lock plates and engraved “PARKER BROS.” on each side and “PATD MAR. 28TH 1875" on trigger plate. Mounted in streaky dark walnut with checkered pistol grip, hard rubber grip cap and Parker’s dog head hard rubber buttplate, and checkered splinter forend with steel tip insert. Bore measurements are not available for this gun, weight is 14 lbs. 13 oz. Good condition. Barrels have a dark brown patina with a fine twist pattern showing, a few areas rubbed bright and bright under forend. There are a couple of significant dents about halfway on bottom of right barrel. Receiver is a grey mixed with brown patina. Stocks have hairline cracks off of both locks and a grain separation behind top tang, worn checkering, some nicks, dings and minor bruises, shrunk slightly below buttplate, a small hole 1-1/2" from toe and has a fine hand worn patina finish. Forend is solid, with checkering worn nearly smooth, darkening around forend iron and has a smooth hand worn patina finish. Mechanics are good with orig hammers with dark moderately pitted bores. A quick survey indicates this may be the second to last lifter Parker ever made - an extreme rarity!
