Manufactured in 1953, "H&R 2-54" barrel date with green/grey Parkerized finish on metal components. All parts observed with H&R markings include: barrel, bolt, operating rod, trigger assembly, hammer and safety. Three piece walnut stocks appear to be correct with correct Ordnance Eagle in box cartouche and circle "P" on grip. Muzzle erosion measures 2 while throat erosion measures 4.5. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling chamber remains in the white further proving the lack of refinish or restoration. Stocks are very good with typical period use and numerous small bruises and scratches. Parkerized finish is very good overall with over 80% remaining with typical high point wear. Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand rifles are very infrequently found in original unaltered condition. The majority of the production went to the Korean war and were constantly rebuilt. After the war, large quantities were left for the Korean military to defend their homeland after the agreed cease fire.
