Round barrel, standard sights, half magazine, case colored hammer and lever with a blued trigger and receiver. Standard two piece American straight grain walnut stocks with crescent buttplate that is vividly case colored. A fine Model 92 rifle in standard configuration that would be hard to improved upon. Attached is the factory Winchester display label for use by retailers that fits rifle stock at wrist. Round barrel retains 96% original blue. It is proof marked on top of barrel in front of caliber markings, also on top of receiver. Forend cap retains 95% original blue. Left side of receiver retains 98% original blue; right side 98% as well. Loading gate with dark Nitre blue with 99% of finish remaining. Breech bolt heavy with dried grease, but still retains 97-98% original blue. Hammer is case colored with drag lines on both sides, 95% of colors remaining dark but very evident. Lever is 80-85% case color with flats of lever indicating strong case colors. Lower and upper tang also retain 98% case colors. Buttplate strong evidences of case colors at 95%. Straight grain American walnut has much of its original finish, 98% with a few surface scratches and impressions. No evidence of chips of wood missing or splits at all. Has some compression marks on right side in wrist area and very light scratches otherwise. Wood to metal fit is very fine. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling, cycles correctly. Mechanics are fine. All screw heads retain case color and appear to be un-turned. Factory research states: serial number applied November 23rd, 1908; no other information available.
