Full octagon barrel in .38-40 full mag with 21P type sight, standard Acorn rear barrel sight. Stock is straight grain American walnut as is the forearm. Forearm cap is blued. Receiver is blued. Hammer cased colored with the lever case colored and the trigger is blued. Rifle style buttplate that is case colored. The octagon barrel has 99.5% blue with the magazine 99.5% original blue. Forearm cap 99% original blue. Left side of receiver with 99% blue with only pin-pricking spots on top of receiver indicating and patina color. Right side of receiver is 99% blue with loading gate high luster nitre blue. Hammer retains 99% case color without any drag line. Lever retains 99% bright vivid case color with the trigger a bright nitre blue. Buttplate with 90-95% bright color with some surface discoloration. The walnut stock has some compressions in the wrist area on the left side and right side as well, very few scratches on either side. No chips of wood missing or splits are indicated as this rifle is as new as one would hope to find. Comes with Winchester retailers display stock sleeve. Bore is pristine. Cycles correctly and mechanics are fine. Factory research states that serial No. 134267 was shipped August 9th, 1900 as an octagon barrel .38 caliber rifle. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
