Gun retains a pleasing patina overall. All markings are clear. Receiver is marked "1894". Stock has a clear 1895 dated cartouche. Fine mechanical function. Scarce second variation with open upper band and steel tipped cleaning rod. Correct bolt with screw and squared cocking knob. Stock shows wear consistent with metal, dings and handling marks. Bore is very good with strong rifling and some minor pitting. Solid butt without trap in buttplate. Brass muzzle cover. Proper original leather sling has "FRANK SELLER CO. H" written on the inside. Further research on this should be done.
