Gun retains an even age patina overall with clear markings and some extremely light pitting in a few areas. Stock shows light wear with an 1897 dated cartouche. There is a 2-1/4" crack extending back from the bolt handle cutout on the right side of the stock. Slight crack in right side of stock from lower buttplate screw; light cracks easily fixed. Bore is good with strong rifling showing some wear. Fine mechanical function.
