Manufactured 1905. Springfield Armory barrel dated 05. Proper hooded front sight with dished knobs on rear sight. Serial number 174435. Two piece American walnut stocks with 1st pattern non-slotted handguard and finger groove straight stock with single cross bolt. Butt plate is smooth pattern with large trap. Standard swivels and stacking swivel. Straight pattern bolt. Strong "JFC" in box cartouche. Good overall condition. Metal has turned a mellow chocolate patina with no blue visible. Wood is good with sharp edges and no indication of sanding or material loss. Numerous minor bruises and storage dings. Bore is fair with visible rifling and frosted grooves. Mechanics are fine and in proper functioning order.
