Manufactured 1917. Springfield barrel dated 4-17. Two piece American walnut stock with finger groves and single strengthening pin. checkered steel butt plate. Early straight bolt assembly. Dished sight adjustment knobs. Stacking swivel with two swivels with top swivel being early split pattern type. Stock has a great "JSA" in box cartouche. Blue finish is very mottled and about 25% is remaining. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Wood stocks are very good with minor period bruising but no material loss is evident. A far than better example of a WWI 1903 rifle.
