(A) FINE 6 BORE ENGLISH PERCUSSION PUNT GUN BY WILLIAMS & POWELL.

Heavy tapered round Damascus steel barrel with patent breech. Top flat marked "WILLIAMS & POWELL. LIVERPOOL." Breech and tang engraved with fine scrollwork. Percussion lockplate and hammer back engraved en suite, lockplate marked "WILLIAMS & POWELL". Engraved steel buttplate and triggerguard, small silver shield wrist escutcheon. Partially figured walnut half-stock with checkered panels on each side of wrist. Complete with brass-tipped wooden ramrod. Barrel retains a spotted brown patina with some Damascus visible and some scattered marks from use. Lock retains traces of finish on hammer face, otherwise retains a silver-grey patina. Hammer spur has been professionally repaired and nipple is a replacement. Mechanism is crisp. Stock very good, as refinished, showing some light wear, fading, and scattered marks. A very nice English shotgun; would be an excellent candidate for restoration as it is very crisp.
