Two-stage browned steel smoothbore barrel, top flat signed "W. Watson 1989" in script. Wayne Watson is a renowned contemporary maker who made all of the rifles for the film "The Last of the Mohicans", including the rifle for Daniel Day Lewis! Flat lockplate retains a faux aged patina and functions flawlessly. Features a finely engraved four-piece brass patchbox and a Bucks County, Pennsylvania style sideplate. Triggerguard bow, sideplate, and toeplate are engraved en suite. Full length figured maple stock of familiar Bucks County form, left side of buttstock with relief carved "C"-scolls. Both sides of wrist, area around barrel tang, and area around ramrod entry ferrule are all decorated with relief carved scrolls. Complete with hickory ramrod. Excellent condition, showing very little use and few light storage marks. Brass retains a nice mellow patina. This is a fine rifle made by a desirable contemporary maker.
