Three stage brass blunderbuss barrel with two English proofs on left side, near breech. Ramrod mounted with two brass ferrules on left side and triangular steel spring bayonet mounted below, engaged by pulling back on triggerguard bow. Brass scalloped boxlock action, one side with a wreathed border around "London", the other marked "Nicholson". Probably William Nicholson, circa 1790. Reinforced steel cock and sliding half-cock thumb safety with frizzen pin. One-piece walnut grip. Excellent condition, overall. Brass has been polished and has a few scattered light marks. Steel components retain a light grey spotted patina. Action and bayonet are strong and function well. Grip shows some scattered marks from use. A very attractive brass boarding pistol!
