Plain half stock American rifle made by Baker. Octagonal rifled heavy barrel, unmarked. German silver blade front sight and iron buckhorn rear sight. Barrel fitted with an iron rib with two iron ramrod ferrules. Flat back-action percussion lockplate stamped "C. BAKER" with stamp decorated pheasants and scrolls, single brass trigger. Walnut half stock is plain and without decoration. Brass furniture and two-piece pacthbox, German silver wedge escutcheons on forearm and endcap. Hickory ramrod. Good condition, all steel components have a brown patina with scattered light freckling and marks from use. Stock has a few scattered marks from use, one small area of loss below lockplate, two small holes on top of wrist from a peep sight, and one splinter replaced on right side of forearm. Crisp mechanism.
