Manufactured 1873 through 1910. Chambered for the .38 Rim Fire cartridge . 28 inch octagon barrel with sporting blade front sight and elevator adjustable sporting rear sight. Two piece American walnut stocks with steel rounded butt plate and small steel forend cap. Matching numbers found on receiver and barrel. These outstanding rifles where utilized world wide for hunting and target shooting. These rifles was typically available with a barrel length of 24 or 26 inches. This example has a 28 inch extra length barrel. Case colored receiver measures 1 inch wide with patent dates on left side. Barrel marked with single line Remington Arms address with the caliber designation of 38 on bottom flat of barrel forward of forearm. Very fine overall condition with bright vivid case colors on receiver and over 95% deep factory applied blue finish on barrel . American walnut stocks are very fine with most oll of their factory applied varnish remaining with several small dents and abrasion found on butt and base of forearm. Bore is very fine with sharp rifling with several small areas of pitting. Mechanics are in proper order and crisp.
