Manufactured in 1943 for troop marksmanship training. A total of just under 72,000 where produced. Two variations of sights where offered. This variant has the second pattern rear sight being the Mossberg sheet metal S-100 peep sight with blade front sporting sight. Rifles where produced with a walnut stained Beech stock and a five round detachable magazine. These became known as the Mossberg Model 44US training rifle. This rifle is as new in its long term storage wrapping. The rifle has not been removed for further inspection and does not include a magazine.
