This gun was made by New England Westinghouse Company in 1915 under contract for Russia. Retains 85% arsenal applied finish, with some light areas of minor pitting. This gun shows both Russian as well as later Finnish markings, most likely meaning it was captured by the Finns during the Winter Wars of Continuation War. The bolt was arsenal renumbered to match, not sure if done by the Russians or the Finns. Stock has Finnish markings, but is not one of the Finnish made stocks. This gun is still in the original 1891 configuration. Counterbored at muzzle as is typical of the Finn captured guns. Import marked on the barrel. Dated 1915 chamber. Fine bore with strong rifling. Leather sling. Wood has dings and scratches. Finnish made replacement hand guard. Accompanied by an early style bayonet with locking ring.
