Gun(A) is a Nagoya made type 38 carbine. Mum is ground. All matching numbers with the exception of the dust cover. Not import marked. Retains 60% original finish. Stock shows some wear with handling marks, good Kanji character on the bottom. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Good mechanical function. Series 5. Leather sling is of questionable age. Accompanied by a later war production Kokura made bayonet with straight quillon. Bayonet and scabbard is in about equal condition to the gun, some evidence of sharpening on blade. Scabbard has some dents in it, but does not affect the bayonet going in. Gun (B) is a double zero series Tokyo arsenal type 38 long rifle. Retains a pleasing patina overall with some traces of finish. Mum has been ground. Good mechanical function. Bore shows wear with good rifling. Numbers are not matching. Not import marked. Stock shows wear with dings and handling marks. Period leather sling. Accompanied by a somewhat scarce "Star K" Nagoya bayonet with hooked quillon and scabbard. Blade has some staining, even patina overall. Some wear and chips of the wood grips.
