This magnificent National Match rifle comes with the original 6122 Star gauge record for serial number 1246661. The barrel is dated may of 1922, also with "AS" and ordinance bomb. The bolt is electroplated with matching serial number. This rifle has a T.E. reading of 3, and a M.E. reading of 0. The walnut stock is in superb condition with a proof "P" at bottom of wrist and the left side has the inspector stamp in a rectangle "D.A.L." (Daniel A. Leary). He was a civilian inspector in Springfield from 1918 to the 1930's. The rear barrel band retains about 76% original blue, the balance of metal is finished in the arsenal matte dark finish, the majority is still retained. In addition to the original card, which lists "Property of George S. Site?? Portland Maine", an original PJ O Hare rear sight micrometer sight adjuster is included. A lovely, fully documented early match rifle.
