This is a Third Issue manufactured in 1940. Features flat top, target front and rear sights, royal blue finish, checkered trigger, checkered backstrap, silver medallion checkered walnut grips. The muzzle shows a hint of wear. There is a slight drag line on cylinder with some minor high edge cylinder wear and a minute amount of brown patina freckling coming through the finish that is barely noticeable. Indexes and locks up correctly both single and double action. Strong, clean bore. At the time this revolver was built, each action was hand fitted and were some of the most expensive and finest target revolvers ever manufactured. The basis of this action was used in the Python revolver. The 7-1/2" barrel is extremely scarce during this time period, having lost favor to the 6" at this late date. One of the last of the pre-war Officers Models.
