These scopes were utilized by the United States Marine Corps sniper unit mounted on the model 1903 Springfield bolt action rifle prior to World War II in the mid-to-late 1930's. They differ from your usual Unertl scope in that the springs are not present. They use black mounts, are 8x and are stamped "USMC-SNIPER". The tubes were finished in blue. Has standard crosshairs with good optics. Scope has overall age freckling, 85% blue and mounts show wear. If you need or are building a pre-war 1903 sniper rifle, this scope is paramount to finishing your project.
