From 1918 to 1920 Colt produced the Army Model 1917 built on the New Service frame for issue to troops during the first World War. They featured dull military blue finish, six shot, double action, walnut grips and lanyard ring. Bottom of the barrel is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and the butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1917". The inspector stamped eagle can be found at rear top of frame with pony on left sideplate. This revolver appears to have seen no use, having been manufactured in 1920 after the war had ended. Retains approximately 98% of its original finish with just usual light handling marks. Grips are excellent to near mint. Locks up correctly. Near mint rifled bore. About as nice condition as one can expect to find.
