The Pre-War Heavy Duty was introduced in 1930. It is a six shot, double action revolver built on the square butt N frame with five screws. These guns were originally built for a high powered .38 Special referred to as the .38 Super Police. Production was discontinued at the start of the war in 1941. These early pre-wars are a manufactured piece of art, hand polished and hand finished with the early high polish blue, case humpback hammer and trigger and fitted with silver medallion diamond checkered walnut grips (pre-Magna). Matching numbers on barrel, cylinder and extractor. Grips are numbered to the gun on right panel. This revolver has seen very little use showing only light drag line, a touch of high edge muzzle wear and brilliant case colors and near mint grips. Near new condition inside and out. This example could use a box.
