Barrel stamped "SA 9-32". These rifles were built to be some of the finest sporting rifles ever built. Feature the commercial blued finish, half stock, single band, military front sight, no provision for rear sight, Lyman 48 receiver sight. Star Gauge stamp at end of barrel. Nickel steel stamped bolt. Walnut two bolt pistol grip C Type stock with checkered steel buttplate. Barrel and frame retains approximately 95% original blue. 90% original blue on floorplate and trigger guard. No inspector stamp but does have proof "P" at wrist. Two stock bolts. Rear sight prevents TE reading. ME reading: 1. Barrel not tapped for scope. Fine condition, original NRA pre-war Springfield sporting rifle in superb condition. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
