During the '30's Griffin & Howe advertised that they would rebuild 54 Winchester and Remington 30-S rifles. They did not re-barrel these rifles so they never put their name or number on them. Most were restocked and fitted with G&H mounts, Lyman 48 receiver sights, and custom refinished. This is the case with this rifle. Metal parts have all Remington factory markings. Barrel has typical G&H banded-on front ramp with knurled sight protector. Lyman 48 has blank slide fitted. Sighting slide is under trap on butt. Finely crotch figured American walnut stock features classic Griffin & Howe styling with swept right hand shadow line cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, sling eyes, steel grip cap, and point pattern checkering at grip and forend. It measures 15-3/4" over ribbed and checkered steel buttplate with trap. Leupold M8 - 4X scope with duplex reticle is in G&H slide and rings. Weight: 9 lbs 14 oz. Excellent condition, retaining nearly all factory finishes on wood and metal. Some marks on left side of stock above trigger. Bore is excellent. Action is smooth. Scope is excellent. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
