Manufactured in 1885. This is a third model 1873 Winchester. Features include; Round barrel with full length tubular magazine. Factory front sight, factory rear adjustable sight and Lyman tang peep sight. Blued lever action with original dust cover. Case color lever and hammer. Front and rear walnut stocks with metal crescent butt plate and for-end cap. Gun retains approximately 60% of the original factory applied blue with the remainder turning to a pleasing brown patina. Hammer and lever shoe case colors in the protected areas. Wood is proud to metal with just a few handling and storage marks. Bright shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection. CORRECTION: Factory Letter states serial No. 181180A was shipped September 1st, 1885 as a round barrel rifle with plain trigger; caliber not mentioned.
