These were manufactured in Chicopee Falls from 1851 to 1860, total quantity estimated at 2,500 to 3,000. This is the automatically revolved cylinder type. Features a Maynard 1845 patent priming system, an etched cylinder, round barrel, six shot, double action, case colored frame and two piece varnished walnut grips. Address stamped on top of frame. Priming door is fire blue and engraved. Frame is also engraved. This is one of the best examples of this model we have encountered. The barrel retains 95% of the brilliant bright factory blue. Cylinder retains 95% of the brilliant blue with perfect etching and just high edge wear. Top strap retains traces of color. Left side of frame has flashes of brilliant blue while the plate retains nearly all of its original high polish blue. The trigger guard and grip strap is a soft grey patina. Action works and locks up like new. Bore is near mint. A top line example of this rare pre-Civil War period pocket revolver. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
