On May 4th, 1900 the Swiss Bundesrat officially adopted the Luger as the military side arm. This is one of the first series military contract Lugers. This one was made in 1900 and retains approximately 98% of the original factory applied blue finish with strawed small parts. Features include round barrel, inverted V front sight, V notch rear sight, narrow grip safety, wood checkered grips with sharp checkering, and seven round detachable Swiss style magazine with steel disc inserts. Great bore with sharp lands and grooves. "DWM" on the center toggle link in scroll. Swiss cross in starburst on chamber. Swiss proof marks on left side of barrel and left side of receiver. All matching numbers. This is a early three digit serial number with the flat safety lever and relieved frame. A spectacular early Swiss 1900 Luger. This one would be hard to upgrade. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
