John Martz was a skilled craftsman in Northern California that took regular Lugers and turned them into something special. Here we have a superb example of one of his Baby Lugers. It was made from a 1920 commercial Luger. Features include shortened grip frame and shorter barrel. The fit and finish is superb compared to any custom gun built today. Claro walnut grips are finely checkered with a border. Magazine bottom has his initials JVM in an oval and a number "1". Left side of frame has his patent mark of MSTR for patent No. US3956967A "Martz Safe Toggle Release". Gun retains 99% of the deep rust blue and strawed small parts that John applied. Fire blue grip screws, front sight and toggle pins. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
