We can find no military cartouches on this pistol but it does not have the barrel marking of a Remington Model 1891 Target, nor does it have the checkered stocks of the 1901 Model. One must assume that the half octagon barrel sans markings is a custom order. the case colored frame has the standard stamped found on all post-18712 pistols with the last date April 17th, 1866. Has a German knife blade front sight and a single blade wind-drift rear sight. The one piece walnut grips fit perfectly and are original to gun, as is forend. We offer the centerfire bore diameter but suggest chamber cast for exact caliber. Barrel retains approximately 30% blue. Frame retains approximately 70% case colors. Still has most of the fire blue on trigger. Excellent wood. Bore is near mint. Fine action. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
