Offered is a first year production of the so-called "Philippine" or "Alaskan" Model whose most distinguishing feature is the oversized trigger and guard. It is fully inspected for the government by Renaldo Carr and his "RAC" initials can be found stamped on the left rear of frame and on back of cylinder. Right side of the frame is stamped "US, 1902 J.T.T." for John T. Thompson. Back of the cylinder has the matching serial number. Gun features six shot, double action, blued finish with fire blued small parts and lanyard ring. Trigger guard retains 35% original blue. High edge wear at muzzle and cylinder with some scattered age spots on right side of frame; but still fully retains 90% of the original bright Colt factory royal blue finish with near mint Colt black composite bird's head grips. The screws, trigger and hammer retain the majority of their Nitre fire blue finish. Event he straps have the majority of the original blue with a bit of patina showing through on backstrap. Gun indexes and locks up correctly both single and double action. Bore is near mint. An extremely fine, all original Colt that saw most of its use in the Philippines fighting at the turn of the century. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
