For whatever reason the pre-war Marlin Saddlering carbine with any condition is extremely difficult to find. This little .44 has seen very little use as evidence by the generous amount of original factory finish. Carbine features: Full round barrel, full magazine, twin barrel bands, post front sight, carbine ladder rear sight, saddle ring and stud, rear tang sight, high gloss walnut stocks, carbine buttplate, blue finish with cased color lever and hammer. The barrel and tube have light high edge wear and a few spots of light age freckling retains 98% original factory blue finish. Bands retain 60%+, the royal high polish blue on frame retains 85-90% finish with some patina and light freckling emerging, bright case colors on sides of lever, stocks are excellent with usual light impressions. Buttplate has turned soft gray. Action and bore are like new. Definitely one of the better examples. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
