Referred to as the "Imp" pushing out a 220 Spitzer bullet at an amazing 2800fps with the striking energy of half a ton or 1206 foot pounds with a trajectory that was so flat it could be shot accurately at 350 yards without changing sight adjustments and penetrating a half inch steel plate. The rifle shot a 70 grain soft nose Spitzer bullet. The only lever action repeating rifle at the time that was capable of firing any Spitzer bullet cartridge. It was light years ahead of any and all competition and even today it is light years ahead of most collectors as it doesn't receive the attention it so rightly deserves. Standard features include: full round barrel, high post front sight, sporting rear sight, take down, rust blue barrel finish, high polish royal blue frame finish, brilliant case colors on lever. Overall metal on this specimen is approx. 98% near new condition inside and out, brilliant case colors on lever, even on bottom with complete coverage. Brilliant royal blue on frame. Razor sharp legends. All screws are true. Savage logo black composite buttplate, excellent walnut stocks. Strong rifle bore. Simply outstanding. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
