Early 16" Bru child, in the "Circle/Dot" style. Has very faint markings, if present at all on the head, but with a "4" incised on edge of right shoulder. The bisque head swivels on the shoulders, which has realistically modeled breastplate and head has very nice pale glass paperweight eyes in a very almond shaped cut, painted lashes, multi stroke brows, and a well-defined open/closed mouth with large protruding upper lip and the illusion of tiny teeth in the space between lips. She is on the original leather body with gusset joints at elbows, hips and knees, with the scalloped piece of leather attaching the torso to the breastplate. Bisque forearms have a nice curved appearance and no damage or repair to be found. Body in general is in very good shape with two very minor old patches at each side, at the hips, near the gusset joints. Dolls costume is a dark navy blue pleated silk dress with cotton front, lace trim, an antique white sheepskin wig over cork pate, and lace and silk ribbon insert bonnet. Shoes are well designed, but later than the doll and the rest of the clothing.

Item Dimensions: 16" T.
STRIKING BRU BEBE.
