This early Colt Army was inspected Waldemar S. Broberg; his initials in a rectangle are stamped on left side of frame. He inspected Colts from June 1941 to June 1942. The serial number matches on both slide and frame. Features checkered slide stop, safety, wide spur hammer, short checkered trigger and serrated arched mainspring housing with loop. Has the early Keyes style brown composite grips with hollow back. Proof "P" on top of barrel and left side of frame at magazine release. Barrel is stamped "COLT .45 AUTO" at left bottom above lug. Right side of slide is blank. Right side of frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 US ARMY". Frame retains approximately 85% blued finish with some minor touch-ups. Slide retains approximately 80% factory blue. Proper magazine is stamped "L". Fine bore and action. Comes with a holster that is stamped "US MADE IN DENVER". Very good example of an early, blued U.S. Army with matching numbers.
