With an estimated production of 45 (31 with 32" barrels), this gun can certainly be classified as rare. All correct factory markings are on matted rib, barrel flats and lump. No. 3 frame features automatic safety and nickel-plated double triggers. All correct markings are on water table. Action is engraved in early "D" style, but with special scenes portraying ducks instead of the normal dogs; a standing mallard is on left, and flying mallard on right. Four ducks fly across trigger plate. "PARKER BROS" is in usual scrolled banner behind each duck scene on sides surrounded by scroll. Trigger guard with scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Well made replacement buttstock of lightly figured European walnut is finished in traditional "D" style with drop points, point pattern checkering, vacant silver oval, skeleton steel buttplate, and has a Parker Brothers grip cap. Original splinter ejector forend with steel tip and Parker's Deeley type release has patent date on iron. Fine, as partially restored. Barrels retain approximately 80% original blue with numerous scuffs and light scratches. Action retains a considerable amount, perhaps 35% original case hardening color, the balance silver to silver gray with some staining. Trigger guard has traces of original blue on bow. New buttstock retains nearly all of its original finish with some light marks. Checkering shows a little wear. Original forend has added oil to finish, checkering somewhat worn. Bores are excellent, with one or two scattered very light pits. Action is tight. Ejectors are slightly out of time.
