This rifle was manufactured in April of 1923. It is standard in all respects with blue barrel sleeve, blue frame, walnut stock, bottom wrap around steel buttplate, sporting sights, and front sling swivel. Aside from some very light age freckling in a few areas, rifle retains 99%+ of the original factory blue finish. Walnut stocks are excellent. Bore and action like new. The Model 8 autoloader was extremely popular on the Texas-Mexican border, but gained its true fame in the hands of Texas Ranger Frank Hammer, used to takedown Bonnie and Clyde. This rifle is nice enough for a original box. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
