This deluxe Savage Model 1899 features the full tapered octagon barrel, brass bead front sight, sporting rear sight, high polish blue frame, brass cartridge counter, deluxe walnut piano finish checkered Schnabel forend with wrap-around checkering at wrist, case colored rifle butt and lever, and Lyman tang sight. 95% or better blue on barrel with razor sharp edges and legends. High polish royal blue frame retains 95% on top, 90% or better on left side with striations, 60% at base and 60% on right side; balance simply patina through finish. Brilliant case colors on side of lever. 50% case colors on buttplate. Bright blue on most screws. Stocks are near mint with razor sharp checkering and sling eyes that have been expertly plugged. Like new action and strong rifled bore. Beautiful condition early and desirable Savage 1899. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
