Features: rust blue round barrel, rocky mountain front sight, sporting rear sight, high polish blue frame with brass cartridge counter, case colored lever, smooth blue steel shotgun buttplate, walnut stocks. The short rifle listed in the 1905 catalogue as a "Saddle gun" is a fairly hard to find rifle the .30-30 caliber was first available in 1900. Barrel retains approx. 99% rust blue finish with razor sharp legends. Frame retains approx. 90% of the brilliant high polish factory blue. Bright case colors on sides of lever. 60% bright blue on buttplate. Near mint walnut stocks with minor impressions. Perfect action with strong rifle bore. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection. CORRECTION: The Roe Clarke letter states serial No. 20409 was shipped as an 1899 rifle with shotgun butt, 22" round barrel in .30-30 shipped August 6th, 1902 to Williams Read & Sons, Boston.
