Chopper lump barrels with flat raised matted rib are engraved with AYA name and address, as well as barrel and steel information on tops. Barrel flats are stamped with Spanish nitro proofs and serial number. Coin finished sidelock action features non-automatic safety, bushed strikers, Purdey type hidden third fastener, side clips, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators and single selective trigger. Action is engraved with full coverage good quality hand cut interplay of flowers and ribbons with a scroll background. AYA name in full, is on bottom. Blued top lever has gold inlaid AYA logo. Blued trigger guard has SN on tang. Relatively plain but dense European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 13-3/8" over sparsely skip-line checkered butt. Stock also features drop points and point pattern checkering at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Gun comes in a brown leather case with stitched leather corners. A black and gold AYA leather label is in lid. Case contains straps, cleaning equipment, snap caps, and crystal oil bottle. Very good condition. Barrels retain most of what appears to be an old re-black but is possibly original. Action retains nearly all of its coin finish. Other blued parts are beginning to silver. Stocks retain nearly all of an old oil refinish. Checkering is lightly worn. Bores appear excellent, but are dirty. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. Trigger works. Lock screw has been replaced. Relatively new case is excellent. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
