32 1/2 inch barrel dated 1868 chambered for the 1mm nitrated paper cartridge. Chemically cleaned to a dove grey finish with one piece walnut stock with iron hardware. These early Model 1866 Chasspot needle fire rifles where most all consumed by the wars or modified to later metallic cartridge arms by both France and The Germans. Stocks are very fine but could use some oil. Bore is quite good. Comes with very fine Chasspot bayonet with scabbard dated 1873. French model 16 carbine. Cal, 8mm Lebel with 17 1/2 inch barrel. Two piece walnut stocks are dark with oil but very complete and are very serviceable. Blue finish on barrel and receiver is good with over 70% remaining balance starting to darken. and typical wear at high points. Comes with French blade bayonet and scabbard. Bore is good with frosting in grooves. Mechanics are very fine and operate properly. Accepts the 5 round magazine clip
