Both of these Krag Rifles are all original (with exception to rear sight upgrade), complete, in excellent condition, and are both worthy of their own lot. Both of the frames are basically patina. The 1896 has 70% original barrel blue mixed with patina, stock is excellent. 1898 has 85% original blue with mixed patina. The 1898 has a nice stock cartouche marked JSA dated 1895 while the 1896 has no visable cartouche. The future owner should really switch these stocks to make the 1896 completely correct. Both has fine actions and bores, the stocks have no cracks just usual impressions, and both are in very collectable condition.
