Features full octagon barrel, Rocky Mountain front sight, sporting rear sight, serpentine lever, walnut stocks and rifle butt. All legends are sharp, all metal is a soft, homogenous brown patina. Stock is very good to excellent with some darkened oil spots and usual mars; no cracks at wrist. Very good rifle bore and fine action. CORRECTION: Per John Dutcher himself, author of the book on the Marlin-Ballard rifle, this is a Ballard rifle.
