This sculpture group depicts a Texas Ranger riding a horse and leading a second horse, over whose saddle is draped a body, presumable a Texas Ranger killed on duty, all on a rocky base. Base is sculpted and inscribed with a banner, reading "Texas Rangers" above a five pointed Texas star. All mounted on what appears be a walnut wood shaped plinth with molded edge and affixed with a small brass plaque reading "Empty Saddle" in script above the name of the artist, "Dubb Tubb". Statue has undisturbed surface with chocolate patina. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
